Mrs. Ramsey grew up in Mesquite, Texas before moving to Shreveport, Louisiana to study Vocal Music Education at Centenary College. She received her Bachelor’s degree and K-12 Music Teaching Certification and taught middle and high school chorus for three years at Greenacres Middle School and Bossier High School in Bossier City, Louisiana. She moved to Los Angeles in 2013 and directed choirs in West Los Angeles and Hermosa Beach before graduating with a Master’s degree in Choral Music from the University of Southern California. Mrs. Ramsey is thrilled to be back at NDA for her first full year teaching TK-5 Music, 6-8 Music Elective, and directing the Treble and Knight’s Choruses!
In Mrs. Ramsey’s music classes, students will learn a variety of skills in music that will not only prepare students to be successful musicians, but will also prepare them to be well-rounded, compassionate, hard-working, and respectful learners. Students will explore musical components such as rhythm, articulation, composition, and multi-cultural music through the use of instruments, developing sight-singing and musical reading abilities, and performance. TK-5th grade students will have the opportunity to perform with their class at NDA’s Christmas Program and 6th-8th grade students in the Music Elective will perform in a musical theatre showcase at the end of each trimester. In addition, 2nd- 8th grade students have the opportunity to join our Treble Chorus or Knight’s Chorus for additional performances and outreach events.
