This is one of the most cherished traditions of our Catholic faith community. That our Religious Affairs Committee and 8grade leadership team organize.
Thanksgiving Prayer Service - November
We highlight our gratefulness for all God’s gifts and beautiful creation to us. We are mindful of those who are less fortunate and bring canned goods to be distributed to a poor parish/shelter.
Christmas Prayer Service - December
We highlight the greatest gift of Christmas~the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. After the prayer service, we sing a few Christmas songs before returning to our homeroom awaiting Christmas vacation.
Epiphany Prayer Service - January
The gift of the Magi is emphasized in this prayer service and we reflect on the gifts we can offer for the new calendar year.
Ash Wednesday Prayer Service - February
At this Prayer Service, we recall the traditional Lenten practice of prayer, fasting and almsgiving. As we receive the ashes on our foreheads, we reflect on our own lives and try to change for the better in living gospel values and showing compassionate care to those in need.
Stations of the Cross Prayer Service - February/March
The 8th grade leadership leads the Stations of the Cross and, as a student body, the children reflect on what the Lord Jesus went through in order for us to gain eternal life.
Triduum Prayer Service - March/April
We commemorate the three most holy days of the year~The Triduum~Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. We reflect on the price paid by Christ in order for us to gain Eternal salvation.
St. Julie Day Prayer Service - April
We have a short reflection on the life of St. Julie Billiart, (our spiritual foundress) and share her joyful charism of spreading God’s goodness and provident care. Sometimes, we have School Families, led by the 8th grade leadership, in order renew the spirituality of St. Julie.
End of Year Prayer Service - June
We reflect on all the blessings we have been privileged to receive during the academic year. After a reading from scripture and prayers of petitions, we have a short message from our principal.
