Mrs. Metoyer is happy to be back in LA, where she was born and raised. After receiving her BA in Mathematics from Loyola Marymount University, she moved to Seattle, Washington to be with her husband who was in the Navy. When he was done serving, they moved to Denver, CO where Mrs. Metoyer has been working as an 8th grade Math teacher for a public charter school in urban Denver. She is excited to take what she learned there and extend it to the middle school experience. She is currently working toward her Masters in Education from Colorado State University and strives to incorporate all of the current teachings and ideas into her classroom.
Knowing the challenges that come with teaching Math, Mrs. Metoyer makes it her goal to make Math fun and engaging for all students. She hopes that each student can find something about the subject that they connect to, whether it is a certain concept or just the problem solving aspect of Math. A Growth Mindset is key to this. Mrs. Metoyer stresses to students the importance of setting goals and working towards them. She is excited to be apart of the Notre Dame Academy Elementary School and looks forward to everything this school year will bring.
